Graces submitted to the Regent House on 19 January 2005

The Council submit the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 105), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 28 January 2005.

1. That the regulations for the Isaac Newton Fund and Studentships be amended, with effect from 1 October 2005, as follows:1

Regulation 8.

By replacing in line 2 the words 'before the end of the Lent Term' by the words 'before the end of the second week of the Easter Term'.

2. That, on the recommendation of the Library Syndicate, the Librarian be allowed to lend the following items:

(i)to the Huntington Library, San Marino, California, for exhibition from March to July 2005, thirteen manuscripts from the Library's Newton collections and one printed book, an annotated copy of Isaac Newton, Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica;
(ii)for fund-raising events at the Field Museum, Chicago, and Christie's, New York, in March and April 2005, fifteen Genizah fragments.
