The Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages give notice that candidates for the oral examinations in Part II of the Modern and Medieval Languages Tripos which will be held in Michaelmas Term 2005, forming part of the examination for Part II in 2006, will be permitted to choose an oral topic of their own, in addition to one of the four topics previously published (Reporter, 2003-04, p. 703).
Candidates will not be required to submit the topic in advance of the examination. The Board are satisfied that no student's preparation for the examination will be adversely affected.
