APPOINTMENT OF PRESIDENT

The Fellows of Trinity College, Oxford, are seeking to elect a new President in succession to the Honourable Michael Beloff, QC, who retires on 31 July 2006 after ten years in office. The President oversees the management of the College, chairs its Governing Body and its principal sub-committees, and represents the College both within Oxford and in the wider world.

Ideal candidates will have academic or professional distinction, enthusiasm for and commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and a proven style of leadership appropriate to a democratic, self-governing institution.

The closing date for applications is 10 December.

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

Applications are invited for a Junior Research Fellowship tenable for three years from 1 October 2005 in any of the following subjects: Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Materials, Mathematics, and Physics. The successful candidate is likely to be at or near the postdoctoral level. The Fellow must engage in original research and may undertake up to six hours' teaching a week with the consent of the College.

Applications should be sent to the Academic Administrator, Trinity College, Oxford, OX1 3BH, by 26 November. Applicants should ask two referees to send confidential references direct to the Academic Administrator by the same date. Interviews will be held on 12 January 2005.
