Annual Meetings of the Faculties

Archaeology and Anthropology

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 8 November 2004, in the Seminar Room of the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, Downing Street. All members of the Faculty are invited to attend. Reports on the past year will be presented by the Chairman of the Faculty, the Heads of the Departments of Archaeology, Biological Anthropology, and Social Anthropology, the Director of the McDonald Institute, the Director and Curator of the Museum, and the Chair of the Part I Teaching Committee and the Haddon Library.

Elections will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2005.

Nominations and notifications of any other business should be sent in writing to the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street not later than Tuesday, 2 November 2004.

Faculty members requiring the agenda and associated papers in advance of the meeting are requested to e-mail the Secretary of the Faculty Board (hip20@hermes.cam.ac.uk) before 2 November.

Divinity

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Divinity gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Thursday, 11 November 2004, in the Lightfoot Room of the Divinity building. The business to be discussed will include the Chairman's report, the report by the Acting Director of CARTS, and the election of two members of the Faculty Board to serve for four calendar years in class (c) from 1 January 2005.

Nominations for the posts in class (c) must be seconded and the consent of the candidate obtained in advance, and should reach the Administrative Officer, Ms R. M. Paul, at the Faculty of Divinity, West Road, Cambridge CB3 9BS, not later than Friday, 5 November 2004. Notice of any other business to be discussed should reach Ms Paul by the same date.

Earth Sciences and Geography

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Earth Sciences and Geography gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held on Tuesday, 16 November 2004, at 2.15 p.m., in the Seminar Room, Department of Geography. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from January 2005.

Nominations for election, signed by the proposer and the seconder, and accompanied by the consent of the person nominated, together with notice of any other business for this meeting should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Department of Geography, Downing Place (e-mail secretary@esg.cam.ac.uk), by Wednesday, 10 November 2004.

Economics and Politics

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Economics and Politics gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, 15 November 2004, in the Meade Room, Austin Robinson Building, Sidgwick Avenue. The agenda for the meeting will be circulated to each member of the Faculty. One of the items of business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), three members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2005 and one member to serve for three years from 1 January 2005.

Nominations in writing, signed by the proposer, together with an indication of the nominee's willingness to serve, should reach the Secretary, Mr K. J. Coutts, Faculty of Economics and Politics, Austin Robinson Building, Sidgwick Avenue, by 5 p.m. on Thursday, 11 November 2004. It would be convenient if notice of any other business that members wish to be discussed were sent in writing to the Secretary by 10 a.m. on Monday, 8 November 2004.

Engineering

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Engineering gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, 11 November 2004, in Lecture Room 6 of the Engineering Department, Trumpington Street. Ballot boxes will be available at the Press Site and the Whittle Laboratory. An election will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c) of one member of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2005.

Nominations and notice of any other business should be sent in writing to the Secretary, Mrs Clare Drummond, to reach her not later than 5 p.m. on Monday, 8 November 2004.

English

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of English gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 18 November 2004, in Room GR06/GR07, Faculty of English, 9 West Road. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), five members of the Faculty Board to serve for four years in class (c), from 1 January 2005.

Nominations for election, and notice of any other business, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Mrs C. H. G. Daunton (e-mail chgd2@cam.ac.uk), Faculty of English, 9 West Road, by noon on Monday, 8 November 2004, at the latest.

History

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of History gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 9 November 2004 in Room 3 in the Faculty of History. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c) three members of the Faculty Board in class (c), two to serve for four years with effect from 1 January 2005 and one to serve with immediate effect to 31 December 2006.

Other business will be the consideration of Examiners' Reports for 2004 and matters arising therefrom, recommendations of the Working Party on Examining Matters, the Seeley Library Report 2003-04, and the University's proposed new pay and grading structure.

Nomination forms, signed by the nominee, the proposer and seconder, should reach the Secretary at the Faculty of History, West Road, not later than 12 noon on Tuesday, 2 November 2004.

Mathematics

The Chair of the Faculty Board of Mathematics gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Thursday, 18 November 2004, in the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Meeting Room 5, Pavilion A. The main item of business will be the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2, of two members of the Faculty Board in class (a)(ii) to serve from 1 January 2005 for four years, and of two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 2005.

Nominations for these elections should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Mathematics, Faculty Office, Room B1.29, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Wilberforce Road, not later than noon on Thursday, 11 November 2004.

Nominations should be in writing, should bear the signatures of the proposer and seconder and should contain a signed statement by the nominee that he/she would consent to serve if elected. Any further items for the agenda should reach the Secretary by the same date.

Modern and Medieval Languages

The Chairman of the Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages gives notice that the Annual Faculty Meeting will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Monday, 22 November 2004, in the Little Hall, Sidgwick Avenue. The main business will be to elect four members of the Faculty Board in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), three to serve for four years, and one to serve for two years, with effect from 1 January 2005.

Nominations for the election and notice of any other business should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board, Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, Sidgwick Avenue, not later than Friday, 12 November 2004.
