Domestic Research Studentships

The Studentships are open to UK or EU students who are undertaking or proposing to undertake research as registered Graduate Students in any branch of study within the University. Students must be registered as Ph.D. or prospective Ph.D. candidates; those registered as M.Phil. candidates may be considered if they can demonstrate a clear intention to proceed to the Ph.D.. Applicants must have applied for an Arts and Humanities Research Board or Research Council award if they are eligible. The value of the awards will be at or above the prevailing Board of Graduate Studies recommended minimum maintenance rate for home students, with provision for University and College fees. Students ordinarily resident in the EU will be eligible for consideration for a fees-only award. Students already in the first year of Ph.D. study are not eligible to apply.

Application materials may be obtained from 4 Mill Lane, Cambridge CB2 1RZ, or downloaded from the Fees and Funding section of the Board of Graduate Studies website: http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/gradstud/funding/ Forms must be countersigned by the applicant's Faculty or Department, each of which will set its own closing date for receipt of applications; Faculty and Department closing dates are listed in the application pack, and are likely to be in Easter Term 2005.

Decisions will be made during the long vacation 2005. Some successful DRS applicants will be designated Millennium Scholars; there is no separate application process for Millennium Scholarships.
