ADMISSIONS CO-ORDINATOR

This new full-time post has been created for a responsible and efficient person to co-ordinate Peterhouse's undergraduate admissions. It offers an interesting opportunity for someone with excellent organizational, IT, and interpersonal skills to play a significant role in one of the College's most important functions: the selection of its students.

The post is ideally suited to someone with experience of university admissions or secondary schools. The successful applicant must be willing to work to deadlines under pressure at busy times, to manage the work of others, and to use initiative in developing the admissions process. Additionally, the post-holder will be involved in liaising with schools and colleges; good presentational and communication skills are essential. It is hoped that the post will appeal to graduates, but the College welcomes all applications.

The College intends to fill the post from 1 September 2004 or as soon as possible thereafter. The normal hours of work will be 36.25 hours a week, but the demands of the post are highly seasonal. It will be necessary for the person appointed to work flexibly in accordance with those demands. The post carries a salary of £23,512 a year, although a higher salary may be negotiable should suitably qualified applicants present themselves. Other benefits include a contributory staff pension scheme; holiday entitlement of 33 days a year; free car parking; and free meals when on duty.

Further particulars are available from the College Secretary, Peterhouse, Cambridge, CB2 1RD (tel. 01223 338202, e-mail jp215@cam.ac.uk) or the College website at http://www.pet.cam.ac.uk/vacancies/index.html/.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae with covering letter to the College Secretary by 19 July. They should include the names of two persons who would be willing to act as referees on their behalf. It is expected that interviews will take place on 23 July.
