Interdisciplinary Environmental Centre: Notice

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 616)

The General Board, on the recommendation of their Research Policy Committee and the Management Committee of the Interdisciplinary Environmental Centre, have agreed that future interdisciplinary environmental activity in the University should be managed by a smaller grouping than at present, and that the formal institution of the Interdisciplinary Environmental Centre should be disbanded. A new entity, the Cambridge Environmental Initiative, has been created to carry out the functions of the Centre; the role of the Initiative will be overseen by a Steering Committee which will include the five Heads of the Departments concerned with environmental research. The regulations for the Centre have therefore been rescinded with effect from 1 October 2004.
