David Crighton Fellowships: Notice

The Managers of the David Crighton Fund are pleased to announce the winners of the 2004 competition for the David Crighton Fellowships. These Fellowships have been established to enable young researchers in the late Professor Crighton's areas of interest to undertake up to three months' study and research with a suitable host in Cambridge (or elsewhere, if they are already in Cambridge).

The 2004 David Crighton Fellows are:

Dr John Cater, of Trinity College Dublin, to work with Dr W. R. Graham in the Engineering Department on 'Pressure fluctuations in turbulent boundary layers'.

Mr Nils Haugen, of The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, to work with Professor M. R. E. Proctor, in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics on 'Small-scale magnetohydrodynamic dynamos'.

Mr Benjamin Veitch, of the University of Manchester, to work with Professor N. Peake in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics on 'Flow-structure interactions and aeroacoustics'.

Dr Petia Vlahovska, of Brown University, to work with Professor T. J. Pedley, in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics on 'Suspensions of swimming micro-organisms'.
