The following election, appointments, grants of title, and reappointments have been made:
Mr H. Sirringhaus, Dipl. Phys., Ph.D., ETH Zürich, Reader in Physics in the Department of Physics, elected Hitachi Professor of Electron Device Physics from 1 March 2004.
English. Dr Sarah Meer, M.A., Ph.D., SE, appointed from 1 January 2004 for five years.
Geography. Dr Daniel Low-Beer, Ph.D., SID, appointed from 1 October 2003 for three years.
History of Art. Dr Rosalind Polly Blakesley, M.A., PEM, D.Phil., Oxford, appointed from 1 October 2003 for five years.
Medical Genetics. Dr Richard Nicholas Sandford, Ph.D., CLH, B.Sc., M.B., B.S., London, FRCP, appointed from 1 February 2004 for five years.
Public Health and Primary Care. Dr Manjinder Singh Sandhu, Ph.D., CAI, B.Sc., M.Sc., London, appointed from 1 February 2004 for three years.
Council of the School of the Physical Sciences. Professor Peter Vincent Landshoff, CHR, appointed from 1 January 2004 until 30 September 2004.
University Offices (Estate Management and Building Service). Mr Ian Nevill Scrivener appointed Advisory Officer, Grade I, from 1 March 2004 until the retiring age.
University Offices (Academic Division). Miss Laura Clare Smethurst, B.A., Durham, M.St., Oxford, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 1 March 2004 until the retiring age.
Archaeology. Dr Mark Alistair Sinclair Blackburn, CAI, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 January 2004 for two years.
Divinity. Reverend Dr Hueston Edward Finlay, M, Dr David E. J. Herbert, Dr David Nicol Gordon Macleod, Reverend Angela Clare Wyatt Tilby, G, and Dr Margie Martineke Tolstoy, DAR, have been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2003 for two years.
Law. Mr Matthew Damian John Conaglen, TH, Dr Benjamin Crewe, R, Mr Christopher Vincent Mark Hare, JE, and Mr Anthony David Yates, R, have been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2003 for one year. Mr Daniel George Goyder, T, Dr Shadd Maruna, Dr Amanda Julia Matravers, DAR, Dr Rose Ann Melikan, CTH, Mrs Nicola Margaret Padfield, F, Dr Amanda Claire Radegund Perreau-Saussine, N, and Dr Andrew Perry Simester, CAI, have been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2003 for a further year.
Education. Dr Lani Florian reappointed from 19 March 2004 until the retiring age.
Judge Institute of Management Studies. Dr Philip Gordon Stiles reappointed from 1 March 2004 until the retiring age.
