Geographical Tripos, Part II

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 300)

With effect from 1 October 2004

The current regulations waive the requirement to submit a dissertation for candidates who transfer to Part II from another Tripos. The regulations have been amended so as to require such candidates to submit a critical review essay of dissertation length.

Regulation 22.

By amending sub-paragraph (b) so as to read:

(b)a student who has not obtained honours in either Part IA or Part IB of the Geographical Tripos and who is a candidate for Part II in the year next after obtaining honours in another Honours Examination; such a student shall submit in place of the dissertation a critical review essay of dissertation length.

Regulation 23.

By inserting in line 1 after the words 'submitting a dissertation' the words 'or a critical review essay under Regulation 22(b)'.

Regulation 25.

By inserting in line 3 after the words 'or course-work or a dissertation for Part II (Regulations 20 and 24),' the words 'or a critical review essay for Part II (Regulation 22(b)),'.
