The Council have given further consideration to the proposed development at 307 Huntingdon Road following the grant of planning permission by the Deputy Prime Minister and First Secretary of State (see the Registrary's Notice, p. 230). In their Notice of 27 October (p. 115) the Council said that a recent financial analysis had revealed a short-fall in funding and that discussions were being initiated with other stakeholders over ways to share this financial risk. Those discussions are continuing.
The Council expect to review the financial basis for the project at a meeting early in Lent Term 2004. In the meantime it seems likely that, whatever the outcome of that review, the financial basis of the project will change significantly from the original proposal and the Council expect to publish a further Report and to seek the approval of the University if the project is to continue.
