Regulation 2 for the Foreign Travel Fund (Statutes and Ordinances, 2003, p. 760) provides that the income of the Fund shall be used to assist resident members of the Senate who have attained the age of fifty years to travel abroad with a view to extending their knowledge in any branch of learning with which their teaching or research is concerned. Regulation 4 provides that in considering applications for grants from the Fund the Council shall give preference to applicants who are not eligible to receive grants from the Travelling Expenses Fund (Statutes and Ordinances, 2003, p. 914).

Suitably qualified members of the Senate who wish to seek grants from the Foreign Travel Fund should obtain an application form from the Education Section (Academic Division) 4 Parson's Court, and submit completed forms to the same address.
