Wright Studentship: Notice

Statutes and Ordinances, 2003, pp. 710 and 901

The Degree Committee for the Faculty of Oriental Studies give notice that there will be an election to the Wright Studentship during the second half of the Easter Term 2004 provided that there is a candidate of sufficient merit.

The object of the Studentship is the encouragement of the study of the Arabic language and literature and of subjects closely connected therewith.

The Studentship is open to members of the University who have been admitted to a degree, but who on 17 April 2004 will not have attained the age of twenty-eight years.

Candidates must send their names to the Registrary (addressed to the Awards Clerk), The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TN so as to reach him not later than 14 May 2004, with a statement of the course of research which they propose to undertake, and such evidence of qualifications as they may wish to submit.

The successful candidate will receive a stipend determined by the Electors after taking account of any other financial resources that he or she may have available.
