The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has received the following nomination for election to the Council in class (b) (Professors and Readers) to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Professor Malcolm Schofield (see Reporter, p. 1006), and that it has been certified to him that the candidate has consented to be nominated:
Professor Zygmunt Guido Baranski, NH, nominated by Professor Malveena McKendrick, G, and Professor Roger Parker, JN.
No other candidate having been nominated, the Vice-Chancellor declares that Professor Baranski is elected to serve as a member of the Council from 1 September 2003 until 31 December 2004, and that the election previously announced will not now take place.
