Grace submitted to the Regent House on 24 April 2003

The Council submit the following Grace to the Regent House. This Grace, unless it is withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 113), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 2 May 2003.

1. (A). That subject to the approval of Her Majesty in Council, the Statutes of the University be amended as follows, and that this amendment be submitted under the Common Seal of the University to Her Majesty in Council for approval.1

THE CHANCELLOR AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY

Chapter VIII

CONDUCT OF BUSINESS

Section 7.

By replacing in line two the words 'any ten members' by the words 'any twenty-five members'.

(B). That the regulations for the conduct of business: Graces and Congregations of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 113, as amended by Grace 5 of 2 October 2002 and Grace 6 of 20 November 2002) be further amended as follows:

Regulation 9.

By providing that the first sentence of this regulation shall be:

A written proposal for the amendment of a Grace which has been submitted to the Regent House may be initiated by members of the Regent House in accordance with Statute A, VIII, 7, provided that the proposal is received by the Vice-Chancellor before the hour specified in Regulation 5 for the approval of the Grace or, if a request for a ballot on the Grace has been received, within one week of the date on which a Notice of the request has been published under Regulation 10 below.
