The General Board, on the recommendation of the Management Committee of the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, have agreed to amend the regulations for the staff of the Institute (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 643), with effect from 1 April 2003, as follows:
Regulation 5.
By amending the regulation so as to read:
5. The duties of the Deputy Director shall be to assist the Director in all matters connected with the work of the Institute, to serve as Secretary of the Management Committee, to engage actively in research, and to carry out such teaching duties as may be required by the Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics or of the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, as the Director agrees are compatible with the other duties of the office.
The General Board have also agreed to add the office of Deputy Director to the Schedule of offices attached to their Notice on study leave for holders of certain University offices (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 662).
