The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:
The regulations have been amended to change the titles of two papers.
Regulation 14.
By amending the title of Paper 3 from 'A subject in Celtic History specified by the Faculty Board of English' to 'A subject in Gaelic History specified by the Faculty Board of English'.
By amending the title of Paper 12 from 'A special subject specified by the Faculty Board of English from time to time' to 'A subject in Brittonic History specified by the Faculty Board of English'.
By amending the detail for Paper 2 of Part I and Papers 2 and 3 of Part II of the Tripos so as to read:
An introduction to the history and civilization of Scandinavia in the Viking Age, and of Scandinavian expansion, except in so far as that is included in Papers 1, 3, and 10 of Part I and in Papers 1, 3, and 12 of Part II. Candidates will be required to use primary sources in the original languages or in translation.
An advanced topic in the history and civilization of Scandinavia in the Viking Age, and of Scandinavian expansion, except in so far as that is included in Papers 1, 3, and 10 of Part I and in Papers 1, 3, and 12 of Part II. Candidates will be required to use primary sources in the original languages or in translation.
An advanced topic in the history and civilization of the Gaelic-speaking peoples from the fourth century to the twelfth. Candidates will be required to use primary sources in the original languages or in translation.
By amending the detail for Paper 12 of Part II of the Tripos so as to read:
An advanced topic in the history and civilization of the Brittonic-speaking peoples from the fourth century to the twelfth. Candidates will be required to use primary sources in the original languages or in translation.
