Mathematical Tripos, Part III, 2003: Notice by the Examiners

In accordance with Regulation 18 for the Mathematical Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 335), the Examiners give notice that a candidate may submit an essay on any one of the following additional topics:

Hidden subgroup problems as a unifying concept for quantum algorithms (Assessor: Professor A. Ekert)
Quantum Key Distribution with Imperfect Sources and Detectors (Assessor: Dr A. P. A. Kent)
Stable Differential Forms (Assessor: Dr A. Kovalev)
Arithmetic Structure in Difference Sets (Assessor: Dr B. J. Green)
Brane Gravity (Assessors: Professor A. C. Davis and Dr T. Wiseman)
The Additive Theory of Primes (Assessor: Professor W. T. Gowers)
Numerical Techniques for Approximating Option Prices (Assessor: Dr D. P. Kennedy)

Candidates are reminded that they are required to return their form giving choices of examination papers and essay (if any) to the Faculty Office, Room B1.29, Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Wilberforce Road, by Friday, 2 May 2003. Please note that this deadline will be strictly adhered to.
