The Faculty Board of Economics and Politics give notice that the form of the examination for Parts I and IIA of the Economics and Politics Tripos (New Regulations) which will be held for the first time in 2003, will be as follows:
This paper will be divided into two sections. Each section will carry equal weight. Candidates are required to answer six questions from Section A and two questions from Section B.

The assessment for this paper comprises a written examination and the submission of a take-home project under arrangements prescribed by the Faculty Board of Economics. The project comprises 20%, and the written examination 80%, of the total mark for the paper. The written examination is divided into four sections: candidates are required to answer questions from all four sections. Sections A and B will contain questions on Mathematics: Sections C and D will contain questions on Statistics. Section A will contain four short questions: candidates are required to answer all of these. Section B will contain a number of longer questions, from which candidates are required to answer one question. Section C will contain a number of short questions: candidates are required to answer four of these. Section D will contain a number of longer questions, from which candidates are required to answer one question. Statistical tables, and a list of the most important statistical formulae, will be provided.
