Downing College

Further details about the following studentships, scholarships and bursaries together with application forms where appropriate can be obtained by writing to the Senior Tutor, Downing College, Cambridge, CB2 1DQ. Completed application forms must be received not later than 4 July 2003. All candidates for studentships or bursaries must be or intend to become members of Downing College.

GRADUATE BURSARIES

Graduate students admitted to the College and intending to read for the Ph.D. Degree may apply for a Bursary of £250 a year for up to three years. Downing graduates who stay in residence to undertake Ph.D. research are similarly eligible for Bursaries.

There is an application form obtainable from the Tutorial and Admissions office.

GLYNN JONES SCHOLARSHIPS FOR BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT EDUCATION

Members of Downing College are eligible to apply for Glynn Jones Scholarships. These valuable scholarships are for those wishing to further their education or careers in the business and management fields. Any who have already embarked on such careers are welcome to apply if they consider that further education and training are likely to improve their career prospects. Typically, scholarships are awarded to help fund M.B.A. or equivalent courses in this country or abroad, but the awards are not restricted to such courses. Scholarships of up to £9,000 a year, for courses of up to two years duration, have been made in the recent past. TREHERNE BURSARY IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

Applicants must be in their second or third year of their Ph.D., in the coming academic year, in the University of Cambridge and must have demonstrated a high aptitude for research. The maximum tenure of a Bursary is two years, subject to a satisfactory annual report by the recipient. The value of the Studentship will be £1,500 a year.

OON KHYE BENG CH'HIA TSIO AND LANDER TRUST BURSARIES IN MEDICINE

Bursaries of £1,500 a year are offered, tenable for up to three years, for research in preventive medicine broadly defined. Candidates must be seeking registration as Graduate Students with a view to reading for the Ph.D. Degree in the University of Cambridge.
