The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has accepted with gratitude a benefaction of £45,000 from Professor H. B. Whittington, Emeritus Woodwardian Professor of Geology to form a fund entitled the H. B. and Dorothy A. Whittington Fund. The purpose of the Fund is to provide grants in support of palaeontological research.
The Council are submitting a Grace to the Regent House (Grace 3, p. 1223) for the approval of regulations to govern the proposed Fund.
