Centre for History and Economics

RESEARCH ASSISTANT/ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Applications are invited for a full-time Research Assistant/Administrative Officer at the Centre for History and Economics based at King's College, Cambridge, for work in connection with the Centre's research programme on Globalization in Historical Perspective. The programme, which is supported by the Rockefeller Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, will involve activities both at Cambridge and at Harvard University over the period 2000-04. Participants in the programme will be working on the Atlantic enlightenment, the East India Company and the American Revolution, nineteenth-century migration, and other topics. The appointment will be for a fixed term of two years, with a probationary period of three months. Internet, word-processing, and organizational skills will be needed. The salary will be attached to the appropriate University scale, depending on qualifications, age, and experience.
