Historical Tripos, Part II, 2003: Amendment to subjects

The Faculty Board of History give notice that they have amended their announcement of Specified Subjects for Paper 29 Part II of the Historical Tripos, 2003, (Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 299, 300, Reporter 2000-2001 pp. 851, 852) as follows:

By amending the title of Paper 29 to read

from 'The history of the Commonwealth from 1839 to the present day'
to 'The British Empire and the Commonwealth from 1780 to the present day'.

Candidates for Part II in 2003, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos and who did not offer in that Part a paper falling mainly in the period after 1750, may meet the requirement to take a post-1750 paper in Part II by offering one of the Special Subjects F, G, I, K, L, N, and O or by offering Papers 4 or 5 one of the Papers 6, 7, 8, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 29, or a dissertation, provided that its subject falls mainly in the period after 1750. Please note that Paper 8 is now included in the post-1750 paper for Part II.
