The Council have recently commenced the process of selection of a successor to Professor Sir Alec Broers whose tenure as Vice-Chancellor will end on 30 September 2003. In accordance with Regulation 1 for the office of Vice-Chancellor (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 655) they have appointed an Advisory Committee consisting of the following members:

The Committee wishes to hear views on the appointment from any interested persons who are invited to contact the Chairman by e-mail (ajb1001@cus.cam.ac.uk) or by writing to the Chairman of the Advisory Committee, Professor Tony Badger, c/o The Old Schools, Trinity Lane, Cambridge, CB2 1TN. In addition the Committee has arranged an open meeting to receive comments and hear views on 26 April at 4 p.m. (venue to be announced). The Council have appointed Heidrick and Struggles to assist with the search. It is planned that the Vice-Chancellorship will be advertised in May 2002.
