French Cultural and Scientific Delegation: Notice

INTERNATIONAL COLLOQUIUM: NEW APPROACHES TO ZOLA

To commemorate the centenary of Emile Zola's death, the French Cultural Delegation and the Department of French are organizing an international colloquium entitled New Approaches to Zola. The colloquium will take place on 16 and 17 April in the Little Hall, Sidgwick Site. Further information can be obtained at http://www.mml.cam.ac.uk/french/news/zola_prog.html. New approaches to Zola is organized in conjunction with the French Cultural Delegation, the University of Cambridge Department of French, the Emile Zola Society, and with the support of the British Academy, the Society for French Studies, and the French Embassy in London.

SEASON EMILE ZOLA AU CINEMA

To complement the colloquium, the French Cultural Delegation has prepared a season Emile Zola au cinéma from 4 to 28 April. All screenings will take place at the Arts Picture House, except for a special free screening of Zola ou la conscience humaine (Stellio Lorenzi, 1978) on Sunday, 28 April, at 2 p.m., which will take place in the Buckingham House Lecture Theatre, New Hall. The season is organized by the French Cultural Delegation with the support of the French Embassy, London, Trinity College, and the Judith E. Wilson Fund, University of Cambridge.
