Magdalene College

The Visitor of the College, Lord Braybrooke, has announced the appointment of Mr (David) Duncan Robinson, M.A., CL, M.A., Yale, Director and Marlay Curator of the Fitzwilliam Museum, Professorial Fellow of Clare College, to be the 34th Master of Magdalene, in succession to Professor Sir John Gurdon, from 1 October 2002.

Appointed President of the College from 1 October 2001:

Dr E. Duffy, D.D., Reader in Church History.

Elected to an Official Fellowship on appointment as Domus Bursar, Steward, and Conference Director, from 1 February 2002:

Mr Guy N. R. Sayle, O.B.E., M.A., M.

Elected to the Parnell Visiting Fellowship in Irish Studies for the academical year 2002-03:

Professor Declan Kiberd, D.Phil., Oxford, M.A., Dublin, Professor of Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama, University College, Dublin.

Elected to Research Fellowships from 1 October 2002:

Miss A.L. Power, CAI, B.A., Sydney, for History.

Mr M. Fayers, B.A., T, for Pure Mathematics.

Elected to Honorary Fellowships from 1 October 2001:

Sir Antony Jay, C.V.O., M.A., M, FRSA, writer and producer.

Sir Colin Corness, M.A., M, Chairman of the Magdalene Campaign Committee, Chairman of Glaxo Wellcome, plc, 1995-97.

Professor Sir Richard Jolly, KCMG, M.A., M, M.A., Ph.D., Yale, Special Adviser to the Administrator, United Nations Development Programme, 1996-2000, Professorial Fellow of the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex.
