The Jewish Roots of Christian Worship Project will be holding a conference on The veil of the temple on 15 March 2002 in the Runcie Room, Faculty of Divinity. The programme is as follows:

9.30 a.m. | The symbolism of the veil as the boundary between earth and heaven, by Margaret Barker, of the Centre for Advanced Religious and Theological Studies. |
10.30 a.m. | Coffee. |
11 a.m. | The curtain in the Coptic and Byzantine traditions, by Dr George Bebawi, of the Centre for Advanced Religious and Theological Studies. |
12 p.m. | The symbolism of the veil in Islam, by Mr Timothy Winter, of the Faculty of Divinity. |
1 p.m. | Sandwich lunch in Selwyn College. |
2.15 p.m. | The veil and the incarnation in the Syriac tradition, by Dr Robert Murray, SJ, of Heythrop College, London. |
3.15 p.m. | The iconostasis in Byzantium and Russia, by Dr Alexei Lidov, Director of the Research Centre for Eastern Christian Culture, Moscow. |
4.15 p.m. | Summing up. |
4.30 p.m. | Tea and depart. |
