New College invites applications for a twelve-hour Stipendiary Lectureship in French for one year from 1 October 2002. The post-holder will be required to offer twelve hours per week language and tutorial teaching for New College in early modern (sixteenth- to eighteenth-century) literature, plus the normal range of pastoral and administrative activities. This post has been created to replace Dr Wes Williams while he is on sabbatical leave, so there is no possibility of renewal beyond the academic year 2002-03.
The appointment will be paid on Point 1 of the University Junior Lecturer scale (£16,426). The successful candidate will also receive a research allowance of £305, a book allowance of £440, and an entertainment allowance of £135. The Lecturer will be a member of the Senior Common Room, entitled to full rights of commons during term and vacation.
Further particulars and an application form may be obtained from the Senior Tutor, New College, Oxford, OX1 3BN (tel. 01865 279596, fax 01865 279590, e-mail tuition@new.ox.ac.uk). The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 8 February 2002.
