Land Economy Tripos, 2002

The Board of Land Economy give notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in 2002 the form of the examination for the Land Economy Tripos will be changed as follows:

Group I

Paper 1 (Economics) will be examined through a three-hour unseen written paper. Candidates will be required to answer three questions, one from four in Section A (Microeconomics), one from four in Section B (Macroeconomics), and one from two in Section C (Welfare economics).

The assessment of Paper 3 (Accounting and data evaluation) will comprise a three-hour unseen paper, accounting for 70% of the final mark, and a computer project which will account for 30% of the final mark. In the written paper, candidates will be required to answer three questions, two from four in Section A (Data evaluation) and one from two in Section B (Accounting). The computer project will cover both Accounting (33% of project mark) and Data evaluation (67% of project mark).

The assessment of Paper 4 (Land, environment, and structural change) will comprise a two-hour unseen written paper, accounting for 75% of the final mark, a group project leading to oral presentations, which will account for 5% of the final mark, and a take-home project accounting for 20% of the final mark. The written paper will contain no fewer than five questions of which candidates will be required to answer two.
