The Disability Resource Centre is offering the following training courses for staff during Michaelmas Term. Unless otherwise stated, the courses will run from 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. in Seminar Room A at Hughes Hall, and will be delivered by Kirsty White.
25 October | Building for inclusion seminar, with Stephen Thorpe, from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., in the Lubbock Room, Peterhouse. |
1 November | Teaching disabled students. |
6 November | Interviews and admissions: how to make them accessible to disabled students. |
12 November | Using tactile diagrams, with Dr Helen Petrie, of the National Centre for Tactile Diagrams, from 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., in Seminar Room A, Hughes Hall. |
16 November | Creating a deaf user-friendly environment, with Laraine Callow, of Deafworks, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Pavilion Room, Hughes Hall. |
19 November | Exploring best practice in meeting the needs of students in emotional or mental distress. |
26 November | Understanding the dyslexia assessment, with Dr Peter Bendkowski, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the Pavilion Room, Hughes Hall. |
