The Faculty Board of Music give notice that the prescribed papers and subjects for Part II of the Music Tripos, 2002, published on 10 May 2001 (p. 659), have been amended as follows:
Set work B. Mozart, Cosi fan tutte has been withdrawn. Set work C. Musorgsky, Boris Godunov is now set work B, and Bizet, Carmen is now set work C. The Paper 2 set works are thus as follows:
A. Handel, Giulio Cesare in Egitto
B. Musorgsky, Boris Godunov
C. Bizet, Carmen
D. Tippett, The Midsummer Marriage
The title of Paper 7 is Music and science.
Paper 9 (formerly Wagnerism) has been changed to Schenkerian analysis and notation.
Paper 10 (formerly Exploring klezmer worlds) has been changed to Indian music.
The Faculty Board are satisfied that no candidate's preparation for the examination is adversely affected by these amendments.
