New Hall

FELLOWSHIPS IN CHEMISTRY

New Hall intends to appoint someone who is, or expects soon to be, working in the Department of Chemistry or a closely related laboratory to a College Lectureship and Fellowship in Chemistry. The person appointed will be expected to teach for four to six hours a week in Full Term (mostly students in their first two years), to interview students applying for places, to help arrange other teaching in Chemistry, and to contribute to the academic life and running of the College. The College currently pays College Lecturers at 20 per cent above the usual rates for supervising, and Fellows a stipend of £1,106 a year; the post will suit those with some additional form of financial support (e.g. from a Research Council) and an interest in undergraduate teaching.

The post is open to men and women; appointment will be for three years in the first instance. Further particulars can be obtained from the President's Secretary, New Hall, Cambridge, CB3 0DF (tel. 01223 762227, e-mail ep208@cam.ac.uk), or from the College's website (http://www.newhall.cam.ac.uk/). Application by letter should be submitted, with supporting references and a curriculum vitae, by 31 July 2001.
