Corpus Christi College

COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN ENGLISH

The College proposes to appoint a College Lecturer in English with effect from 1 October 2001. The successful candidate will be required to teach undergraduates for the Cambridge English Tripos for up to twelve hours a week and to serve as Director of Studies in English. He or she will also take responsibility for the administration of the subject in the College, including admissions. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in research. There is no preferred field of specialized study.

The appointment will be for a fixed term. The initial tenure of the Lectureship, which is open to men and women, will be for a period of three years, with the possibility of reappointment for two years. The appointment will also be subject to one probationary year. The pensionable stipend will be on a scale equivalent to that of a University Assistant Lecturer or University Lecturer, depending on age and experience. The successful candidate will be elected to a Fellowship of the College, with which further obligations and privileges are associated.
