The Vice-Chancellor begs leave to report to the University that he has accepted with gratitude two benefactions:
(i) a benefaction of £250,000 from Mr Raymond Montague Burton, M.A., of Trinity College, to commemorate the funding in 1931 by his father, Mr Montague Burton, of the Montague Burton Professorship of Industrial Relations. The purpose of the benefaction is to form a fund entitled the Raymond Burton Fund to provide one or more Montague Burton Studentships for graduate studies in the Faculty of Economics and Politics;
(ii) a benefaction of £100,000 from Dr S.T. Lee, Honorary Fellow of Wolfson College, to provide an annual lecture in public policy. The fund is to be named the Dr S.T. Lee Public Policy Lecture Fund.
The Council are submitting Graces to the Regent House (Graces 1 and 2, p. 819) for the approval of regulations to govern the proposed Funds.
