Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos, Part IB (Special Options courses): Notice

In accordance with new Regulation 24 of the Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 325), the Faculty Board of Biology give notice that they intend to offer the following Special Options courses for Part IB in the Lent and Easter Terms of the academical year 2001-02. Each of these options shall be restricted to an upper limit of 90 students, apart from the Experimental Psychology Option, which will have an upper limit of 60 students.

1. Applied Physiology

2. Substances of Addiction and Abuse

3. Control of Pain

4. Experimental Psychology (limited to 60 students)

5. Tumour Biology

6. Metabolism and Diseases

7. Infectious Disease in Animals and Man

8. Applied Veterinary Anatomy

9. Veterinary Pharmacology

10. Sensorimotor Neurobiology

11. Men, Molecules, and the Environment

12. Developmental Biology for Medicine

13. Comparative Vertebrate Biology (compulsory for Veterinary Students)

These options will be divided into two lists, and students will be required to choose one option from each list. Further details of the options syllabus, timetable, etc. will be published in Michaelmas Term 2001. Under the terms of Regulation 24, the Faculty Board may subsequently issue amendments to this list.
