Mansfield College

STIPENDIARY LECTURERSHIP IN MODERN HISTORY

Applications are invited for a stipendiary Lecturership in nineteenth- and twentieth-century European and British History. The appointment is for a two-year fixed term from October 2001. The stipend will be £9,603, with additional remuneration in Hilary Term 2002 for part coverage of administration while Dr Raven is on sabbatical leave. The Lecturer will be expected to offer eight one-hour tutorials a week in term time, as well as assisting with occasional College class teaching in the main and joint History schools, tutorial and open day administration, and annual admissions interviews.

NON-STIPENDIARY JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

Mansfield College proposes to elect two non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellows for two years from 1 October 2001. Applicants should be engaged in postdoctoral research in Oxford and have independent support. The College expects to elect one candidate in the Humanities/Social Sciences and one in the Sciences. The Fellow will be entitled to free lunch and dinner during all periods when the kitchen is open, and full membership of the Senior Common Room.

The closing date for applications is Friday, 1 June 2001. It is the responsibility of the applicants to ask their referees to send references direct to the College Secretary to arrive not later than that date.
