Final examination for the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, December 2001: Notice

The Faculty Board of Clinical Medicine give notice that, with effect from the examinations to be held in December 2001, the examination in Part III, Section (b), Surgery for the Final M.B. Examination will be changed as follows:

Part III

Section (b), Surgery

Written examination

Paper 1, which is of one hour's duration, will contain one compulsory question. The paper will contribute 20 per cent to the total percentage of marks for the written examination. Paper 2, which is of two hours' duration, will carry 80 per cent of the total percentage of marks for the written examination.

Clinical examination

The total time allocated for the 'Long' Case in the clinical examination will be increased from thirty to thirty-five minutes, and the candidate's time with the patient will be increased from fifteen to twenty minutes.
