Graces submitted to the Regent House on 21 March 2001

The Council submit the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 113), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 30 March 2001.

1. That the regulations for University Composition Fees as amended by Grace 2 of 28 February 2001 be further amended, with effect from 1 October 2001, as follows:1

By amending certain entries in the table so as to read:

M.B.A.:†

K Open course 14,000

† The fee for the M.B.A. course is due in a single payment for the year; there is no provision for payment by termly instalments. M.B.A. students pay fees at the H, I, J, or K rate according to the number of terms or weeks spent in residence.

SCHEDULE

By amending the entry for the Diploma in Theology so as to read:

Theology and Religious Studies

Courses leading to examinations for the M.Phil. Degree.

By rescinding the entries for Computer Speech and Language Processing, Social and Political Theory, Sociology and Politics of Development, Sociology and Politics of Modern Society, and Theology

By inserting the following entries:

By amending the entry for the M.B.A. Degree by inserting the following:

3. That the regulations for certain prizes awarded on the results of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos be amended as follows:2

A. The Burney Prize

With effect from 1 October 2002

Regulation 6.

By replacing the reference to 'Part II' of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos by reference to 'Part IIB' of that Tripos.

B. Hebrew Prizes

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 755)

With effect from 1 October 2001

Regulation 2.

By amending the regulation so as to read:

2. There shall be open for award annually one or more prizes to candidates for Part II (Old Regulations), Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos, and the Examination for the Diploma in Theology and Religious Studies, and one or more prizes to candidates for the Examination in Theology and Religious Studies for the M.Phil. Degree who acquit themselves with distinction in the Hebrew linguistic papers in those examinations.

With effect from 1 October 2002

Regulation 2.

By further amending the regulation so that the reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos is replaced by reference to Parts IIA and IIB of that Tripos.

C. Dr Lightfoot's Scholarships and Prize

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 774)

With effect from 1 October 2002

Regulation 7.

By replacing the reference to Part II of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos by reference to Part IIB of that Tripos, and by amending the reference to 'Regulation 14' so as to read 'Regulation 16'.

By amending the footnote to this regulation so as to read:

The Faculty Board of Divinity have designated the following papers for this purpose until further notice: Papers C4, D1, and D2 (provided that the only subjects eligible in Papers D1 and D2 are subjects in ecclesiastical history).

D. Scholefield Prizes

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 827)

With effect from 1 October 2001

Regulation 2.

By amending the third sentence so as to read:

The Awarders shall be for the Junior Prizes the Examiners for Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos, and the Diploma in Theology and Religious Studies, and for the Senior Prizes the Examiners for the Examination in Theology and Religious Studies for the M.Phil. Degree.'

Regulation 3.

By amending the regulation so as to read:

3. The Junior Prizes shall be open to candidates for Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos and the Diploma in Theology and Religious Studies, and the Senior Prizes shall be open to candidates offering a dissertation on the critical study of the Holy Scriptures, including the New Testament in Greek, in the Examination in Theology and Religious Studies for the M.Phil. Degree.

Regulation 4.

By deleting in the third line the words 'and for the M.Phil. Degree'.

With effect from 1 October 2002

Regulation 2.

By further amending the regulation so that the reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos is replaced by reference to Parts IIA and IIB of that Tripos.

Regulation 3.

By further amending the regulation so that the reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos is replaced by reference to Parts IIA and IIB of that Tripos.

E. Teape Prizes

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 848)

With effect from 1 October 2001

Regulation 2.

By replacing the reference to Part II of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos by reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of that Tripos.

With effect from 1 October 2002

Regulation 2.

By further amending the regulation so that the reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos is replaced by reference to Parts IIA and IIB of that Tripos.

F. Theological Studies Fund

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 849)

With effect from 1 October 2001

Regulation 3.

By replacing the reference to Part II of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos by reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of that Tripos.

With effect from 1 October 2002

Regulation 3.

By further amending the regulation so that the reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos is replaced by reference to Parts IIA and IIB of that Tripos.

G. Sheikh Zayed Fund

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 879)

With effect from 1 October 2001

Regulation 4.

By replacing the reference to Part II of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos by reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of that Tripos.

With effect from 1 October 2002

Regulation 4.

By further amending the regulation so that the reference to Part II (Old Regulations) and Part IIA (New Regulations) of the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos is replaced by reference to Parts IIA and IIB of that Tripos.

4. That the regulations for the Zeneca Pharma Pharmacology and Therapeutics Prize be rescinded.3

5. That Cambridge University Development Office in the United States (CUDOUS) cease to exist as a separate office and that the merger of CUDOUS with the American Friends of Cambridge University (AFCU) to form a new organization, to be called Cambridge in America, be approved.4

6. That the recommendations in paragraph 6 of the General Board's Report, dated 17 January 2001, on the ownership of intellectual property rights generated by externally funded research (p. 429), be approved.5

7. That the recommendations in paragraph 6 of the Council's Report, dated 26 February 2001, on the construction of a Equine Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Centre for the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine (p. 506), be approved.
