St Catharine's College

SENIOR TUTORSHIP

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Tutor, to succeed Dr Chris Thorne who retires on 30 September 2001. The role of the Senior Tutor is to lead the educational and tutorial work of the College. This appointment, which is not seen as full-time, is for five years in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for a further period of five years. It carries a pensionable stipend of £7,000 a year. The Senior Tutor will also be expected to carry a normal tutorial side, for which a further pensionable sum, currently £4,311 a year, will be paid (or a half-side, for which the current payment is £2,156 a year). If the person appointed is a University Teaching Officer, the College will make an additional payment to cover any liability to deduction from the University stipend. If appropriate, the person appointed may also become a Director of Studies.
