Election, appointments, and reappointment

The following election, appointments, and reappointment have been made:

Election

Mr I. M. Hutchings, M.A., Ph.D., JN, Reader in Tribology in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, elected GKN Professor of Manufacturing Engineering from 20 December 2000.

Appointments

University Lecturers

Biochemistry. Mr F. Hollfelder, M.Phil., Ph.D., TH, Diplom-Chemiker, Berlin, appointed from 1 October 2000 for five years.

Classics. Ms H. L. Morales, M.A., Ph.D., N, appointed from 1 January 2001 for three years.

Pathology. Mr G. H. Williams, Ph.D., T, B.Sc., M.B., Ch.B., Liverpool, appointed from 1 January 2001 for five years.

Pharmacology. Mr A. A. Genazzani, Laurea, Catania, D.Phil., Oxford, appointed from 1 October 2000 for five years.

Zoology. Ms H. L. B. Skaer, M.A., Ph.D., G, appointed from 1 October 2000 to the retiring age.

Computer Officers

Careers Service. Mr R. J. Sparkes, B.Sc., Loughborough, M.Sc., South Bank, appointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 1 August 2000 for five years.

University Offices (Management Information Services Division). Ms R. M. Coleman, B.A., NH, appointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 2 January 2001 for five years. Mrs J. L. Clarke, B.A., Hertfordshire, appointed Computer Officer, Grade III, from 17 January 2001 for five years.

Assistant Treasurer

University Offices (Finance Division). Mrs V. Mitchell, CIPFA, appointed from 2 January 2001 for three years.

Deputy Head of Department

Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. The General Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Mathematics, have appointed Professor P. V. Landshoff, M.A., Ph.D., CHR, to be Deputy Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from 1 October 2000 for four years.

Reappointment

Clinical Lecturer

Radiology. Dr J. H. Gillard reappointed from 1 April 2001 for two years.
