Lincoln College

SENIOR TUTORSHIP

Applications are invited for the new post of full-time Senior Tutor, with effect from 1 September 2001. The position offers an exciting and challenging professional opportunity as the College develops its role within a rapidly changing collegiate University. The Senior Tutor will be a Fellow and full member of the College's Governing Body. He or she will be responsible for overseeing the entire range of the College's academic activities, including the development of policy, arrangements for admitting and teaching undergraduates and graduates, and relations with University and external bodies. The position involves no teaching or research duties, but candidates should be strongly sympathetic with academic values and concerns, and have experience of administration or management in an educational context.

The Senior Tutor is supported by the College Office, which is headed by the College Secretary. Other staff include the Admissions Secretary, the Rector's PA, the Fellows' Secretary, and the IT Officer.

The initial period of appointment will be five years (including a first, probationary year) with the possibility of further appointment to the retiring age. The remuneration package will be in the range £35,000 to £45,000. Free meals and health insurance are also provided, together with ancillary benefits.
