Professorship of Engineering, 1966 (Grace 4 of 1 December 1965): Notice

The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Engineering, 1966 (Grace 4 of 1 December 1965) invite applications for this Professorship and it is hoped that the successful candidate will take up appointment on 1 October 2001. Candidates are expected to have an international reputation in their field of specialization, which will be in the broad area of Communications Technology, and may include optics, opto-electronics, or optical communications. Current interests within the Department include liquid crystal devices and displays, semiconductor opto-electronics, and optical waveguides. The Professor will be expected to provide leadership in research in his or her chosen field, to supervise research projects and graduate students, and to undertake undergraduate teaching in the Department of Engineering. The appointment will be subject to the Statutes and Ordinances of the University.
