King Edward VII Professorship of English Literature: Notice

Applications are invited for appointment by the Crown to the King Edward VII Professorship of English Literature, which will become vacant on the retirement of Professor Dame Gillian Beer on 1 October 2002.

The King Edward VII Professorship is the most senior post in the Faculty of English, and is one of four established Professorships. Applications are invited from those working in any field of literature in English from the age of Chaucer onwards. The appointment will be subject to the Statutes and Ordinances of the University.
