HUYGENS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR STUDY IN THE NETHERLANDS

The University of Nijmegen gives notice of the Huygens Scholarships Programme of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, which offers opportunities for talented students to study at Dutch universities during the academic year 2001-02

The Huygens Programme aims to promote the flow of students between the Netherlands and countries with which the Netherlands has concluded a Cultural Agreement and from countries with which the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science has concluded agreements regarding the award of scholarships. A committee of experts, appointed by the Minister, selects the most qualified candidates for the Huygens Scholarships.

The Scholarships are intended for outstanding students who have completed or are nearing completion of a higher education programme, and who hold or are about to be awarded a higher education degree or diploma. Ph.D. students can also apply for a Scholarship.

Application forms and further information, including a list of eligible countries, are available on the Internet at http://www.nuffic.nl/programma/internationalisering/huygens-form.html.

Applications for the Huygens Scholarships must be submitted, together with the required documents, to the Dutch Embassy in the country where the student is a permanent resident. The application deadline is 1 February 2001.
