Institute for Learning and Teaching: Notice

The General Board's Academic Staff Development Committee published a Notice on 11 August 1999 on the establishment of the Institute for Learning and Teaching (ILT) as a professional body for higher education staff involved in teaching and the support of learning (Reporter, 1998-99, p. 950).

A direct Initial Entry route to membership of the ILT will be available until 30 September 2001 for experienced staff who have the equivalent of three years' full-time experience of teaching or learning support in higher education.

The General Board have also agreed to support those seeking to gain membership of the ILT by reimbursing the cost of the initial application and the fee for the first year of membership.

The Academic Staff Development Committee have organized a number of half-day workshops to provide practical advice for those wishing to follow this route to ILT membership.

Workshops will be held in the Pavilion Room, Hughes Hall, as follows:

Friday, 24 November 2000, 9.30 a.m. - 12 noon (course ref: 24NOV/iltmem-am).

Friday, 24 November 2000, 2 p.m. - 4.30 p.m. (course ref: 24NOV/iltmem-pm).

Friday, 23 February 2001, 9.30 a.m. - 12 noon (course ref: 23FEB/iltmem-am).

Friday, 23 February 2001, 2 p.m. - 4.30 p.m. (course ref: 23FEB/iltmem-pm).
