The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, they have approved amendments of the regulations for certain University examinations, as follows:
(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 284)
The purpose of the amendments is (i) to allow the Examiners discretion whether or not to take a candidate's original composition into account and (ii) to amend the regulations to conform with current practice in which essays, compositions, and dissertations are passed on through a candidate's Director of Studies rather than Tutor.
Regulation 17.
By replacing the word 'Tutor' in line 8 with the words 'Director of Studies'.
Regulation 20.
By replacing the word 'Tutor' in lines 3 of paragraph (a), 2 of paragraph (b), and 2 of paragraph (d) with the words 'Director of Studies'.
Regulation 21.
By (i) replacing the words 'shall be taken into account by the Examiners,' in lines 2-3 with the words 'may be taken into account by the Examiners in classifying the candidate', (ii) replacing the word 'non-literary' in line 4 with the word 'non-written', and (iii) replacing the word 'Tutors' in line 5 with the words 'Directors of Studies'.
