The Board of Electors to the GKN Professorship of Manufacturing Engineering, which is based in the Department of Engineering, invite applications for this Professorship and it is hoped that the successful candidate will take up appointment as soon as possible. Candidates are expected to have an outstanding record of research in the field of surface engineering. The appointment will be subject to the Statutes and Ordinances of the University.
Further information may be obtained from the Acting Secretary General of the Faculties, University Offices, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TT, to whom a letter of application, marked 'Confidential', including details of current and future research plans, a curriculum vitae, and a publications list, should be sent, together with the names of two referees, so as to reach him not later than Friday, 27 October 2000.
