Babraham Institute

ASSISTANT BIOINFORMATICIST

The Babraham Institute is a charity which is world renowned for its research in life sciences that leads to new medicines and treatments for human diseases. Applications are invited for a post in the Institute's Bioinformatics Service, to provide scientific and technical support in the areas of sequence analysis, datamining, functional genomics, and proteomics, to a wide range of multidisciplinary end-users. A biological background with an interest in bioinformatics and a high standard of keyboard proficiency are important. Specialist training will be provided. Strong analytical skills and an interest and enthusiasm for solving problems, together with the ability to communicate well, are essential. The post is initially for five years. The salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience within the range £23,000 to £26,600 a year.
