Natural Sciences Tripos, Part IB, Neurobiology

The General Board have approved a proposal put forward by the Faculty Board of Biology for the introduction of Neurobiology as an additional subject in Part IB of the Natural Sciences Tripos with effect from the year 2001-02. It is thought that the subject Neurobiology in Part IB will be a natural progression from the new subjects in Part IA and will complement other subjects on offer in Part IB as well as preparing students who wish to be candidates for Neuroscience and other biological subjects in Part II of the Natural Sciences Tripos. The proposal has the support of the Strategic Committee for the Natural Sciences Tripos and the Senior Tutors' Committee.

The regulations for the Natural Sciences Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 343) have accordingly been amended, with effect from 1 October 2001, as follows:

Regulation 9.

Part Ib

By inserting the subject 'Neurobiology' into the group of subjects nominated by the Faculty Board of Biology.

Regulation 20.

By inserting, in the list of subjects, after 'Molecular Cell Biology' the subject 'Neurobiology'.

Regulation 22(b).

By inserting in group (i) the subject 'Neurobiology'.
