Elections, appointments, and reappointment

The following elections, appointments, and reappointment have been made:

Elections

Mr J. C. Baron, M.D., Paris VI, Director of Research (Neurosciences), The National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), Caen, France, elected Professor of Stroke Medicine from 1 November 2000.

Professor L. Mahadevan, B.Tech., Mech.Engg., Indian Institute of Technology, M.S., Texas, M.S., Ph.D., Stanford, the van Tassle Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, elected Schlumberger Professor of Complex Physical Systems from a date to be determined.

Appointments

Engineering. Mr C. Durkan, B.A., Ph.D., Trinity College, Dublin, appointed from 1 July 2000 for five years.

Social Anthropology. Ms M. C. Ferme, B.A., Wellesley College, Massachusetts, M.A., Ph.D., Chicago, appointed from 1 July 2000 for three years.

Assistant Secretary

University Computing Service. Mrs F. Hider appointed from 1 January 2000 for three years.

Computer Officers

University Offices (Management Information Services Division). Mr P. J. C. Radden, P.G. Dipl., M.A., T, appointed Computer Officer, Grade I, from 1 April 2000 for five years. Mr D. Reed, M.A., appointed Computer Officer, Grade II, from 1 April 2000 for five years.

Senior Assistant Registrary

University Offices (General Board Division). Ms L. E. Friday, B.A., N, Ph.D., Exeter, appointed from 14 June 2000 for three years.

Administrative Officers

University Offices (Research Services Division). Ms J. L. Alexander, B.Math., P.G. Dipl., M.Math., Newcastle, New South Wales, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 10 June 2000 for three years. Ms J. R. Walsham, B.Sc., Durham, appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 1 July 2000 for three years.
